What we actually value
Not a list of words on a wall — these are the behaviours we hire for, promote on, and part ways over.
Founders first
Every feature, every decision starts with the question: does this make a founder's life materially easier? Not marginally — materially.
Accuracy over speed
We file legal documents on behalf of real businesses. Getting it right is non-negotiable. We move fast, but never sloppy.
Honest by default
No dark patterns, no buried fees, no upsell traps. We tell founders exactly what they're paying for and why.
Bias toward shipping
Polished is good. Shipped is better. We prefer a tight, working product over a perfect product that never lands.
Deep domain knowledge
State filing rules, tax elections, banking regulations — our team actually learns this stuff. Surface-level doesn't help a founder at 11pm.
Small team, high ownership
We stay lean intentionally. Fewer layers means more impact per person. You'll own entire surfaces, not tickets.
What comes with the role
Concrete, not aspirational. These are the benefits in effect today.
Compensation
- Competitive salary benchmarked to US market rates (regardless of where you live)
- Equity — every full-time employee receives stock options
- Annual performance-based bonus
- 401(k) with 4% employer match (US employees)
Health & wellbeing
- 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision (US employees; international stipend equivalent)
- $1,200/year wellness stipend — gym, mental health apps, fitness gear, your call
- Unlimited PTO (with a real 15-day minimum — we track it)
- Paid parental leave: 16 weeks primary / 6 weeks secondary caregiver
Remote & equipment
- Remote-first — work from anywhere with a reliable connection
- MacBook Pro (or Windows equivalent) provided on day one
- $750 home-office setup stipend
- Async-friendly culture with documented decisions; no mandatory 8am standups
Growth
- $2,000/year learning budget — courses, certifications, conferences, books
- Access to our internal legal, tax, and compliance knowledge base
- Quarterly career conversations, not just annual reviews
- Clear leveling rubric: you always know what the next step looks like

Team interview & offer
Two conversations: one with a future teammate, one with a founder. References, offer discussion, and a decision — typically within 5 business days of your final conversation.
~1 week to offer
Where is the team based?
We're fully remote, with team members working from the United States, Canada, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Nigeria. We hire in any jurisdiction where we can establish payroll or a contractor relationship — reach out if you're unsure about your location.
Do you hire international contractors?
Yes. We work with full-time employees in the US and Canada, and with contractors elsewhere. Compensation is benchmarked to US rates regardless of location — we don't apply geographic discounts.
What does the equity package look like?
All full-time employees receive incentive stock options (ISOs for US employees, NSOs for non-US). The grant size depends on level and role. We share the full cap table and explain dilution mechanics during the offer conversation — no surprises.
How does the paid work sample work?
Every role includes a short, scoped exercise designed to mirror real work — not contrived whiteboard puzzles. We pay an honorarium ($75–$150 depending on the exercise length) before you complete it. The output stays yours.
Is there room to grow into leadership?
Yes — the team is small enough that ownership expands naturally with tenure. We have a written leveling rubric (Staff Engineer, Lead, etc.) and run quarterly career conversations to calibrate expectations. No one gets stuck waiting for a headcount approval to take on more.
What's your policy on async vs synchronous work?
Async is the default. Decisions are documented in writing; we don't recapitulate them in meetings. Synchronous time (standups, planning, 1:1s) is protected and bounded. We ask that you overlap at least 4 hours with US Eastern Time for real-time collaboration when it matters.
